The time of year you put your property on the market can play a key part in whether or not your house will sell faster. So, when is the best time to sell?
SPRING: This is considered to be the best time of the year to put your property on the market as there are more buyers actively looking during these months. This is also a good time to show your property at its best as there is plenty of light, gardens are in full bloom and so your property will look it’s best.
SUMMER: The market is more subdued as there are less buyers actively looking. This is due to the fact that many people take holidays at this time of year or are entertaining kids during school holidays. Property professionals and solicitors may also be on holidays thereby slowing up the sale process even if you do get a sale.
AUTUMN: The buyers return to market and this again can a good time of year for house purchases. Anybody look to buy and move before Christmas will be trying to do it now.
WINTER: From the second week in November the property market largely goes into hibernation. People become focused on Christmas and do not want the added hassle or additional expense involved with moving to a new house.
